Stanislav Valerievich Shaposhnikov is a Professor of the Department of Mathematical Analysis at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Lomonosov Moscow State University (since 2014) and a Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics of HSE University (since 2013). Doctor of Sciences in physics and mathematics.
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University in 2006. His Candidate of Sciences (PhD) thesis was "Elliptic equations for measures" (2009); his Doctor of Sciences thesis, "Qualitative properties of stationary distributions and transition probabilities of diffusion processes" (2011), was defended at the age of 27.
He works on Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov equations. He developed a renormalization method for solutions and, with coauthors, solved A. N. Kolmogorov's problem on the uniqueness of probability solutions to Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov equations; he also proposed a new approach to the regularity of solutions to elliptic equations in double divergence form.
He received the A. N. Kolmogorov Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2018) for the series "Stationary Kolmogorov equations", the Moscow Government Prize for Young Scientists (2017) and the I. I. Shuvalov Prize (2012) for his doctoral dissertation.
He teaches analysis and probability at Moscow State University and HSE University; at the Independent University of Moscow he teaches "Mathematical Analysis 1" and "Probability Theory" in autumn 2026.
